The Lost Vape Ursa Nano S Kit is a new entry in the market of super simple open pod systems. Designed as a step up from disposable vape kits, the Ursa Nano S Kit is perfect for vapers who want a more sustainable and cost-effective option. The kit is part of the Ursa line from Lost Vape, which includes several other kits ranging from simple pod systems to sub-ohm pod mods.
The packaging of the Ursa Nano S Kit includes the Ursa Nano Pod device/mod, a refillable Ursa Nano Pod/cartridge with a 2.5 mL capacity and a 0.8 ohm fixed coil, a USB-C cable, and paperwork such as the user manual and cartridge guide. The device has an 800 Mah battery, dimensions of around 101 x 24 x 14 mm, and generates 5-16 W of power depending on the pod/cartridge used, with an output voltage of 3.2-4.2V. The Ursa Nano S Kit also has an auto-draw functionality and the standard protections we are familiar with.
The Ursa Nano S Device is colorful, lightweight, and made from plastic and silicone. Despite the powerful 800 Mah battery, the device is comfortable to use thanks to its rounded corners. The pod contacts and magnets are inside the pod cradle up top, and the USB-C port is on one side, with the LED light on the opposite side. The LED light activates when the pod is installed when the device is in use, and also when charging.
The Ursa Nano S Kit is a very simple kit, with no buttons to fiddle with. Simply pop the pod in and inhale! The auto-draw engages quickly as you inhale, even with a slight draw. There is no airflow control on the device or pod, and air gets into the pod via a pair of pin-point holes on either side of the device and then flows towards the bottom of the pod and up the mouthpiece. The draw is warm enough with the supplied pod and does get warmer when taking successive puffs, providing a satisfying vape experience. However, for tight MTL enthusiasts out there, it’s worth noting that the draw is only a medium MTL draw at best.
The Ursa Nano Pod/cartridge is made of plastic and is quite tinted, but it’s still easy enough to see e-liquid levels. When installed in the device, you may need to tilt the pod a little to see how much e-juice is in it, as the bottom half of the pod is obscured by the device. The duckbill mouthpiece is flat and narrows towards the top, making it quite comfortable on the lips during use. There is an adequately-sized side fill hole towards the bottom of the pod that is sealed by a rubber bung. Refilling is mess-free, especially with most e-liquid bottles in the market.
The base of the pod has the coil plate for contact, magnets, and a pair of relatively wide air holes (see description of airflow in the previous section) for sufficient flow of air into the coil. The fixed 0.8 ohm in the pod works well in MTL, providing good flavor (7/10), especially with the nicotine salts used during the review. The pod is able to handle fruit and dessert e-liquids beautifully and without any issues. It’s worth noting that for the best vape experience with this coil/pod, it’s recommended to use 50/50 PG/VG e-liquids.
